Dr Gurbir Kaur is a highly experienced Pain Medicine Specialist practicing in Canberra and Sydney.

She completed her MBBS in 2005 at Bundelkhand University in India, followed by a DNB in Anesthesiology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, in 2011, and further advanced her expertise during her Senior Residency at PGIMER Chandigarh from 2012 to 2015. Driven by a keen interest in chronic pain, her quest for knowledge led her to Australia, where she completed specialist pain medicine training at Royal Hobart Hospital and achieved Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA) in 2018.

Dr Kaur adopts a holistic approach to pain management, offering a range of treatment options including medications, interventional procedures, and non-medication alternatives tailored to each patient’s needs. She consults in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, making her care accessible to a diverse patient base.

Her areas of special interest include chronic back and neck pain, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), cancer pain, and musculoskeletal pain. My role as a Pain Physician gives me an opportunity to help and serve patients experiencing years of chronic pain and disability. This is a very rewarding area to make a difference.

Neuropathic pain: quite distressing to patients and considered difficult to diagnose and treat.
