Neurologist & Epileptologist

Dr Jia is a General Neurologist and Epileptologist with extensive clinical experience and a strong commitment to provide person-centred neurological care.

She completed a Fellowship in epilepsy at Prince of Wales Hospital under the guidance of Professor Ernest Somerville. Dr Jia specialises in diagnosing and managing complex epilepsy cases.

In addition to epilepsy, Dr Jia’s interests extend to headache / migraine, stroke medicine, neuro-immunology, Parkinson’s disease, and general neurology, making her a versatile clinician with a broad scope of practice.

Before pursuing her medical career, Dr Jia built a solid academic foundation with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. These qualifications enriched her understanding of medical sciences and pharmacology, providing a strong basis for her clinical work in neurology.

Dr Jia completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney and went on to undertake basic physician training at Princess Alexandra Hospital, one of Brisbane’s largest tertiary hospitals. She later returned to Sydney to complete her advanced neurology training at several tertiary hospitals, including Nepean Hospital, St George Hospital, and Prince of Wales Hospital, where she gained expertise in both general neurology and epilepsy.
